April
The Bloody Run Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be at 3:00 p.m. on April 1 at the Station Museum. The Station Museum will open for the 2024 season on April 6. Barb Miller's exhibit at the library in April will be photos and articles on the Underground Railroad in Bedford County.

March
The Bloody Run Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be at 3:00 p.m. on March 4 at the Station Museum. Barb Miller's exhibit at the library in March will be a continuation of photos and articles on  "Along the Path of the Pike.  Also, photos of the St. Patrick’s Day Flood of 1936 will be on display.
Saturday, March 16 will be our annual Spring Cleaning Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Museum. 


February
The Bloody Run Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be at 3:00 p.m. on February 5 at the Everett Free Library. Barb Miller's exhibit at the library in February will be a display of photos and articles on  "Along the Path of the Pike" including the Chambersburg-Bedford Turnpike.

January 2024
The Bloody Run Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be at 3:00 p.m. on January 8 at the Everett Free Library. Barb Miller's exhibit at the library in January will be a display of photos and articles on Everett High School basketball teams of the past. 

December
The Bloody Run Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be at 3:00 p.m. on December 4 at the Everett Free Library. Barb Miller's exhibit at the library in December will be a Christmas display of photos and articles. The BRHS will be hosting Christmas events on December 2 and 9 at the Station Museum. A special Christmas model train will be on display, along with crafts, music, photos, and refreshments. Santa will be in the caboose, greeting children and their Christmas wishes. Fun for all. 1 pm to 4 pm.

November
The Bloody Run Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be at 4:00 p.m. on November 6 at the Train Station and Community Museum. Barb Miller's exhibit at the library in November will be a display of photos and articles on a variety of topics featuring the “Murder on Main Street” story.

October

The Bloody Run Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be at 6:00 p.m. on July 3 at the Train Station Museum. Barb Miller's exhibit at the library in July will be a display of photos and articles on the past Everett Firemen’s Carnivals.

June
The Bloody Run Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be at 6:00 p.m. on June 5 at the Train Station Museum. Barb Miller's exhibit at the library in June will be a continuation of the display of photos and articles on the historic Bill’s Place. On June 10, Barb Miller will lead an informal discussion on one-room schools in Everett and surrounding communities. This will be at the Everett Free Library at 1 p.m., and visitors are asked to bring their stories and photos of one-room schools.

May
The monhtly meeting of the BRHS will be on May 1 at 6 pm at the Station Museum.  Barb Miller's exhibit at the library in May is photos and articles on the historic Bill's Place on the old Lincoln Highway.

April
The Bloody Run Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be at 5:30 p.m. on April 3 at the Train Station Museum.  The Station Museum will open on April 1 for the 2023 season, 11 am to 4 pm.   Barb Miller's exhibit at the library in April will feature photos and articles on the old Everett airfield, featuring John Shaffer, Helen Barnett, and Buddy Batzel.


March
The Bloody Run Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be at 3:30 p.m. on March 6 at the Everett Free Library. Barb Miller's exhibit at the library in February will feature photos and articles on the St. Patrick’s Day flood of 1936. On March 18, Barb Miller will present a slide-show program on Everett’s history with an emphasis on the aftermath of the 1936 St. Patrick's Day flood. The presentation is at the Everett Free Library at 10 a.m.

February, 2023

The Bloody Run Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be at 3:30 p.m. on February 6 at the Everett Free Library. Barb Miller's exhibit at the Library in February will feature photos and articles on “Old one room schools in Everett and nearby communities.”

The Museum is closed for the 2022 season.
The Bloody Run Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be at 4 p.m. on November 7 at the Everett Free Library. Barb Miller's historic exhibit at the Everett Free Library in November will feature articles and photos of early Everett Churches.  Special photos of Church windows will also be on display.

October

The Bloody Run Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be at 6 p.m. on October 3 at the Station Museum. Barb Miller's historical exhibit at the Everett Free Library in October will feature articles and photos of the 1972 undefeated Everett football team, as well as photos of football teams from the early 1900s.  Also on display is a tribute to the 1986 Pennsylvania State Pole Vaulting Champion, Scott Jones.  On October 15th, there will be an art and craft class on creating homemade Christmas cards. The class will be taught by retired Everett teacher Sue Lepako.  The class will be at the Station Museum starting at 11 a.m.  Space is limited, so make your reservation by sending an email to brhseverett@gmail.com.


September
The Bloody Run Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be at 6 p.m. on September 12 at the Station Museum. Barb Miller’s historical exhibit at the Everett Free Library in September will feature articles and photos of Colonel Joseph M. Stine, a 1949 Everett High School graduate.

August
The Bloody Run Historical Society’s monthly meeting will be at 6 pm on August 1 at the Station Museum. Barb Miller’s historical exhibit at the Everett Free Library in August will feature the story of “Murder on Main Street”. On Saturday, August 20, at 2 p.m. at the Everett High School auditorium, there will be a viewing of the SSgt Robert Hartsock’s video, Forgotten HeroesFree admission, donations are appreciated. The Bloody Run Historical Society and the Everett Area Alumni Association are sponsoring this event.

July
The Bloody Run Historical Society will meet at 6 pm on July 11 at the Station Museum. Barb Miller’s historical exhibit at the Everett Free Library in July will be a continuation of June’s display, with a quiz “Where were they located? In addition, a display of photos and articles on Everett’s first graduate S. Howard Gump and the Gibboney family, the owners of the Cottage Planing Mill. On July 17, at 2 p.m. the BRHS will be hosting its second annual Floyd Cornell Magic Show. Don Foor will be making a special guest appearance. There is no admission to the show; donations are appreciated.

June
The Bloody Run Historical Society will meet at 6 pm on June 6 at the Station Museum. Barb Miller’s historical exhibit at the Everett Free Library in June will feature a quiz “Where were they located? And a display of photos and articles on Everett’s first graduate S. Howard Gump and the Gibboney family, the owners of the Cottage Planing Mill.  On June 14 at 10 am, the Bloody Run Historical Society will host a Greensburg antique car club at the museum; the public is invited to visit. Approximately 14 antique cars will be on display and Paul Price will be at the museum to discuss the Karn’s Kar. On June 18, the Society will host its second annual Juneteenth observance. There will be a panel discussion along with a question-and-answer session.  Dr. Garnell Washington will be the guest speaker. Make your plans to attend this event. May
The Society will hold its monthly meeting at 6 pm on May 2 at the Station Museum.  Barb Miller’s historical exhibit at the Everett Free Library in May will feature a display of photos and articles on the 1941 Everett VFW National Championship Band.

April
The Bloody Run Historical Society will open for the 2022 season on April 2 at 11 am.
The Society will hold its monthly meeting at 6 pm on April 4 at the Station Museum. Barb Miller’s historical exhibit at the Everett Free Library in April will include a display of photos and articles on the old Forbes Road, the Chambersburg and Bedford Turnpike, the Juniata Crossings and Chain Bridge.

March
The Bloody Run Historical Society will meet at 4 pm on March 7 at the Everett Free Library. The historical exhibit at the Everett Free Library in March will be a display of photos and articles on the 1936 St. Patrick’s Day flood, the Lutz Woolen Factory, also known as the Juniata Woolen Mill, the Lutzville Indian Statues, and the Indian seats on Warrior Ridge.

February

The historical exhibit at the Everett Free Library in February will be a display of articles and photos of old Everett businesses and factories such as the Gibboney Cottage Mill, Earlston Furance, and others.

January, 2022
The Bloody Run Historical Society will meet at 3 pm on January 10 at the Everett Free Library.
The historical exhibit at the Everett Free Library in January will be a display of photos and articles on Everett basketball featuring earlier teams from the 1930s and 1940s.


December

The Bloody Run Historical Society will meet on December 6 at 4 pm at the Everett Free Library

The BRHS will be participating in the Christmas Parking Meter contest.  See our Christmas parking meter in front of the Dollar General store.  Also, at the bottom of this page.

The historic exhibit at the Everett Free Library in December will be a Christmas display, along with a tribute to Vaughn Horton's Christmas songs..

The museum closes for the 2021 season on Saturday October 30.

November
Kevin Mearkle will be at the Everett Free Library on November 20 for a book signing of his book Civil War Soldiers of Bedford County.

The historic exhibit at the Everett Free Library in November will be a photographic history of the Union Hotel..


October 30 is the closing day for the Museum for 2021.  Thanks to all our visitors this season.  See you next spring.

Kevin Mearkle's book Civil War Soldiers of Bedford County Pennsylvania is available at the museum.

The Robert Hartsock Video is available at the Museum and by mail order.


October 2 - The society will host Kevin Mearkle’s Civil War Soldiers of Bedford County book signing.  At 1:00 pm, Kevin will present a slideshow of photos that appear in the book.  Bring your book or purchase one at the museum.  The 600-page hardbound publication includes 700 photos and identifies over 4000 Civil War soldiers born in Bedford County or with ties to Bedford County.   Regimental enlistments, Muster Dates, casualty, and cemetery locations are included in the book.
The historical exhibit at the Everett Free Library in October will be a continuous of the feature on Kevin Mearkle and his book Civil War Soldiers of Bedford County Pennsylvania.

The Everett Station Museum will be open every Saturday thru October,11 AM to 4 PM.

Mission

The Bloody Run Historical Society is a non-profit organization whose mission is devoted to providing a historical resource base for the Everett area. We also help to foster the preservation and protection of historically significant artifacts of the Everett area.
The Society shall collect, document, preserve, restore and display artifacts and information about Everett’s cultural, industrial and transportation history and heritage in the Everett Train Station Museum.
