1873: The Everett Cemetery was established in 1873, the same year Bloody Run officially changed its name to Everett in honor of Edward Everett, a Massachusetts statesman and orator.
The cemetery was established during a period of growth and change in the community. Everett had evolved from an early settlement into an established borough, with expanding businesses, industries, churches, and families in need of a burial ground.
Situated on a hill just east of Everett’s historic business district, the cemetery overlooks the Raystown Branch of the Juniata River to the south and the local golf course to the north. Its elevated location provides a peaceful resting place while remaining closely connected to the town’s history.
